For Full Orchestra, High School Level $80
Timing 8:20
Towards the end of his life Alexander Borodin (1833 – 1887) undertook writing an opera, Prince Igor. At his death the overture remained unfinished. Fellow composer, Alexander Glazunov undertook scoring the overture, based upon having heard Borodin play his ideas on the piano, using elements from the opera and composing certain sections himself. With this in mind, the present arranger, William Rich, felt justified in also reshaping the overture, which in this version, includes the much beloved first Polovetsian Dance, from Act I of the same opera.
