BWV 78 and arranged for obligato violin, viola, and cello with muted string
orchestra by William Rich. The obligato
parts may be performed solo or soli. A treble clef obligato viola part is also included.
Bach wrote this for two solo voices and continuo. The solo voice parts are in the violin and viola obligati, the
obligato cello hastens with excitement, while underneath a joyful bass
pizzicato completes the setting.
